We use standard tube and fitting scaffold systems, chosen and configured based on what the site survey identifies; bay widths, lift heights and tie patterns are set to suit the building and the work being carried out on it, not a one-size-fits-all layout.

Boards, guardrails and toe boards are fitted to current standard requirements throughout, and where a job needs additional protection; debris netting, for example, on a re-roof; that's specified at survey stage rather than added as an afterthought once the scaffold is already up.

Erection follows the design agreed at survey stage: standards go in first on suitable base plates or sole boards depending on ground conditions, ledgers and transoms follow, and ties are fixed into the structure at the intervals the design calls for before boarding proceeds lift by lift.

For hires supporting a specific trade sequence; roofers first, then guttering, then repointing; we can phase boarding and access points to suit, rather than boarding out the whole structure in one configuration that doesn't match how the job will actually run.

Hire varies from a simple independent scaffold against a single elevation for a small extension, right through to full scaffold wraps for larger renovation or commercial projects, sometimes combined with temporary roof systems where the building needs to stay weathertight during long works.

We also hire scaffold access towers for shorter, more mobile jobs where a full static scaffold isn't needed, and can advise at survey stage which option actually suits the work rather than defaulting to the larger structure.

Domestic hire typically covers extensions, re-roofs, render and repointing work, and window or fascia replacement; jobs where access is needed for a defined but sometimes uncertain length of time. The six-week standard hire covers the majority of these outright.

Commercial and contractor hire tends to involve longer, more complex sequencing; multiple trades using the same scaffold over an extended period, which is where the weekly inspection regime and clear RAMS become especially important for site management and liability.

Residential hire is usually a smaller structure with a single point of contact; the homeowner, and access considerations around driveways, gardens and neighbouring properties matter as much as the scaffold design itself, which is where being known locally as tidy and considerate counts.

Commercial hire more often involves coordination with site managers, other contractors and sometimes public access restrictions, and the paperwork side: RAMS, inspection records, sometimes design calculations for non-standard configurations; tends to be scrutinised more closely by site management.
